I just had to take these pics to save for future embarrassment opportunities. Notice Jack’s smug “what are you looking at” face.

In anticipation of sunshine and Spring (it will come eventually, right?), we signed Tavin up for t-ball. His first practice was a hoot and Tavin couldn’t be more excited to be a member of the “Angels”. After his first practice he was absolutely beaming. His coach complimented him on his knowledge of the game (I guess my patience with the incessant questioning paid off) and as his Dad, I’m proud to say he’s been blessed with more athletic ability than I had at his age. When I played second base I took it very literally and refused to touch any ball that didn’t come within six inches of my little white rubber square. Tavin is the complete opposite, and I thoroughly enjoy watching him try to cover every position at the same time, all the while grinning excitedly. I’m sure this doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows him! no comments The little man is all grown up…well it seems like it compared to the tiny baby he used to be. This first year has just flown by. Jack is so fun and full of personality. He provides great entertainment for our little family. We celebrated his first birthday with a “where the wild things are” birthday party. Both Brad and I remember the books as one of our favorites from our childhood and had a lot of fun planning the party. Jack, however, wasn’t too impressed. He was cranky and cried for the first 30 min or so. We skipped ahead to cake (just so I could get some messy pictures) which at first he tolerated but soon he made us all aware that he didn’t care for it. When jack took a nap, the real party started. The kids colored crowns (just like max’s) and themed coloring sheets. We had a story time featuring the book. Then, we all enjoyed some delicious treats. The older boys had a blast, and who are we kidding, the party was really for them anyway!
The banners had text from the book on the flags. The girls at Pinwheel Lane made them for us, along with the coloring sheets and construction of the cupcake toppers!
The graphic used on these treat bags is a part of our “where the wild things are party pack” available in our design shop. It also includes the cupcake toppers, thank you labels, banners, and a 5×7 invitation. The fantastic cake was made by our friends at Two Kings Confections. How amazing is the detail!? The gray and white paper straws are available in our design shop as well.
no comments I am having a love/hate relationship with Silly Putty. On one hand, my kids love it, it keeps them entertained, it is super cheap, and it makes me reminisce of the days when I used to copy newspaper comics on it. On the other hand, silly putty is destroying my house. It is mashed in the family room carpet, stuck on the couch and pillows in my office, and Jack has been known to eat any “left overs” he can get his hands on. And now for the biggest battle… Oliver stuck it in his hair…
It absolutely kills me that I had to practically shave his head. If he had put it anywhere besides the front of his head, I could have salvaged some hair! I miss that big head of goofy, floppy, locks. 3 comments |
